LEADING PEBC OSCE PREPARATION COMPANY ANNOUNCES EXPANSION TO VANCOUVER
January 6, 2012 (Vancouver) – PharmAchieve, the largest and leading provider of courses for the PEBC OSCE today announced the opening of registration for its courses in Vancouver. Says Hooman Katirai, CEO of PharmAchieve “With the opening of our Vancouver campus, Alberta and British Columbia residents no longer need to travel to Toronto to receive high quality OSCE instruction – something that has been lacking until now in their own areas.”
The Vancouver courses will take place over 4 days and feature the same high-quality instructors that teach PharmAchieve's Toronto-based courses. The Vancouver course features four mock OSCEs during which time students will complete cases with real standardized patients trained by local medical schools and training councils as well as licensed pharmacist assessors. Each case is immediately followed by 4 minutes of feedback from the licensed pharmacist and standardized patient.
Says Negeen Katirai, Lead Instructor of PharmAchieve "The way we have structured the course enables students to receive the classroom instruction they need, as well as the practice that is vital to passing a communication exam like the OSCE." During the four days of the course, students will personally complete more cases with standardized patients than are offered by other courses -- about 6 times more cases than the Bredin Institute and about 5 times more cases than UBC's CPP Program.

Today’s announcement follows on the heels of PharmAchieve’s previous announcement that Janet Sio, PharmD, had joined its core team. Janet is a former university professor and the original developer of the curriculum for both the University of Toronto's CPS program and the University of British Columbia (UBC) CPP Program.
